EAGLE COUNTY AIRPORT

The Eagle County Airport, also referred to as the Vail Airport, Vail/Eagle Airport (EGE), is located approximately 30 miles west of Vail, Beaver Creek, Avon, Bachelor Gulch, Arrowhead, Cordillera and Edwards, Colorado.

During the winter months, the Eagle Airport serves guest arriving to these ski resort destinations as well as in the summer months. Many options exist when you arrive at the airport when it comes to getting to your hotel, resort, condominium or house. Rental cars at the Eagle County Airport are not equipped with snow tires. Therefore the best way to get to your resort of choice is to take a taxi, limousine or shuttle. All three types have drivers that are experienced in winter driving conditions and the vans and cars are equipped with the proper equipment for snowy roads. Shuttles are the most expensive way to get to your destination if you have 3 or more people traveling to Vail, Beaver Creek, Avon, Bachelor Gulch, Arrowhead, Cordillera or Edwards. Not only will you have to wait at the airport until everyone on your van is ready to go before departing, you will also get a free tour of the city while all of the other passengers are dropped off.

Taxis are the cheapest and most economical way to get to your destination when you have three of more in your party. You get a private car, same as a limousine, for a fraction of the price. All taxis accept credit cards and leave the airport when you are ready. While a limousine operates in a similar fashion, you will find them expensive and they don’t have counters located in the airport. Limousine companies generally have small fleets, giving them less flexibility to meet your needs. In today’s economic environment, travelers are looking for value.
